Garland of Gems Teaching Series

“ To know ourselves, we need to have sincerity, refined wisdom, and patience. We need to be earnest and honest to ourselves and get deeper comprehension. It is like we can see the scenes on the surface of the ocean. This is the external self. The situation under the sea is the deeper self. We can only see the real situation there if we get in a submarine and dive down. After we see the scenes on the surface, and also the world underwater, only then can it be considered as understanding ourselves. This is our homework for cultivation, this is what we need to learn to do well. Then the Buddha’s Dharma teachings can function and transform the mind ”          – From the teaching series on “A Bodhisattva’s Garland of Gems” Prayer, Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche

Our series : The Manjushri Lineage Dharma center cordially requested Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche to give a discourse on Lama Atisha’s  ‘A Bodhisattva’s Garland of Gems’, an important historical prayer in the Lojong or ‘Mind Training’ tradition.   According to Rinpoche, ‘A Bodhisattva’s Garland of Gems’ represents the pure style of mind training in Lama Atisha’s Old Kadampa Lineage, and also clearly specifies a practical method for the stages of the cultivation path.   With this writing as the main theme, Rinpoche merges into the teaching various Sutras, fundamental Dharma logic, and theories.

Special qualities of our Lama : Rinpoche leads the students to get a clear understanding of their lives, to be honest to themselves, to treat and follow the cause and effect carefully, and to understand the purpose of Buddhist cultivation. Generating the Kadampa qualities of humility, honesty, kindness and purity as a foundation, one can enter into the true cultivation of the Bodhi Path.

Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche is the lineage holder of the Manjushri Lineage, and also a Lineage Guru of the Gelug Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Rinpoche’s main Gurus include the great Gelug Masters Tsenshab Rinpoche and Dhakpa Rinpoche, who embody the Old Kadampa qualities. Rinpoche has unequaled view on the stages of the cultivation path, and he has designed unique and effective cultivation methods, in stages. Rinpoche’s teachings help students understand the current situation of themselves and how to apply antidotes to their existing shortcomings. They learn how to understand the original form and meaning of Dharma in Buddha’s time, and to repair the deterioration in the current Dharma ending period.

Rinpoche is a sage who can lead us to cultivate in our current lives and benefit and protect our future lives, one who is very hard to find in the present time.
